**Roles of the Executive in Presidential and Parliamentary Systems**


**Presidential System:**

1. **Head of State:** The President serves as the ceremonial head of the country.

2. **Head of Government:** The President is responsible for running the government and implementing policies.

3. **Commander-in-Chief:** The President is the highest-ranking military officer and controls the armed forces.

4. **Appointment Powers:** The President appoints key government officials, such as cabinet members and ambassadors.

5. **Veto Power:** The President can veto legislation passed by the legislature.


**Parliamentary System:**

1. **Head of State:** In a parliamentary system, the head of state is usually a monarch or a ceremonial president.

2. **Head of Government:** The Prime Minister is the head of government and is responsible for running the country.

3. **Symbolic Role:** The head of state performs ceremonial duties, while the Prime Minister handles day-to-day governance.

4. **Cabinet Formation:** The Prime Minister selects cabinet members from the legislature.

5. **Vote of No Confidence:** The Prime Minister can be removed from office through a vote of no confidence in the legislature.
